PANAJI: The Department of Tourism will organize Carnival parades in collaboration with Local Municipal bodies in Panaji, Margao, Vasco and Panaji starting from February 26.
As per schedule, the carnival parade in Panaji will be held on February 26, on February 27, at Margao, on February 28, at Vasco and on March 1, 2022, at Mapusa.
The parades will be flagged off at 3:30 pm following Covid Protocols and Model code of conduct for General Assembly elections.
Also, there will be no commercial floats or floats on a political theme.
In 2021, teh Carnival saw less number of colourful floats, a slender crowd against the traditional gathering of lakhs, and low enthusiasm marked the annual Goa Carnival float parade, thanks to the coronavirus pandemic.
Only 12 floats, as against the usual number of 30 to 40 floats, participated in the parade led by the float of the state Tourism department, which was taken out on D B Bandodkar Road, Panaji.
