Colva: Goa Police have registered a case after a video circulating on social media allegedly showed a bullfight being organised in Benaulim.
According to police, the case was registered at Colva Police Station based on a state complaint filed by PSI Prathamesh Mahale.
The complaint states that on March 14, 2026, unknown persons allegedly organised a bullfight between two bulls in an open place at Benaulim, within the jurisdiction of Colva Police Station, for the entertainment of the public. The accused persons reportedly incited the bulls to fight with each other in public view, thereby subjecting the animals to cruelty.
Police have registered the offence under Sections 11(1)(m) and 11(1)(n) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960.
Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Prathamesh Mahale of Colva Police Station.
