PANAJI: In the thrilling world of Goan football, the 18th Rebello Pandal football tournament has witnessed a stellar performance by CC Nuvem as they secured a spot in the quarterfinals with a hard-fought 4-3 victory over Chandrawaddo Boy’s Fatorda. This triumph not only underscores the team’s prowess but also highlights the intense rivalry that defines this beloved tournament.
The match, held at the St. Rita Church ground in Maina, Curtorim, was a testament to the skill and determination of both teams. CC Nuvem dominated the first half, establishing a strong lead with four goals, courtesy of the impressive performances by Akil and Larson, each scoring twice. This early advantage seemed insurmountable, but Chandrawaddo Boy’s Fatorda refused to let their hopes fade away.
In the second half, Chandrawaddo Boy’s Fatorda mounted a spirited comeback, driven by the exceptional talent of Francisco Andrade, who scored two goals, and Charles Miranda, who added another to their tally. Despite their valiant effort, they couldn’t bridge the gap created by CC Nuvem’s early onslaught.
