Panjim: The Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) Mayor Uday Madkaikar said that he is firm on the decision not to renew the trade licences of offshore casino vessels, anchored in River Mandovi.Madkaikar told reporters that the CCP has decided not to renew the trade licence of the offshore casinos and it is firm on its decision.
The licences were due for renewal after March 31. The off shore casinos are shut since March due to covid pandemic.
Madkaikar said that taxi operators and hotilers had approached him requesting that the renewal be granted for a period of two years for now to protect their livelihood in the current pandemic.
“But the final decision will be taken by the council,” he said.
