PANAJI: Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) Mayor Rohit Monserrate has stated that the civic body is not in favour of digging up newly tarred roads for laying Piped Natural Gas (PNG) connections, stressing that such works would inconvenience citizens and undo recent infrastructure efforts.
Speaking on the issue, the Mayor highlighted that the roads were recently completed after significant effort and resources, and any decision to break them again would not be in the public interest. He underscored that the priority of the CCP remains the comfort and convenience of residents.
Monserrate further said that if the implementation of PNG infrastructure leads to discomfort for the public, the corporation would oppose such works. He reiterated that development projects must be planned in a manner that does not disrupt daily life or compromise newly completed civic works.
