Panaji: In a key step towards the forthcoming Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) elections, the State Election Commission (SEC), Goa, on Tuesday issued a notification finalising the reservation of wards for Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Women.
The notification, issued by Menino D’Souza, IAS (Retd.), Commissioner, State Election Commission, under Section 10(1) of the City of Panaji Corporation Act, 2002, specifies the category-wise reservation for all 30 wards of the CCP. The reservation has been determined in accordance with the notification issued by the Department of Urban Development on February 2, 2026.
As per the annexure published in the Official Gazette (Series II No. 45, Extraordinary No. 3 dated February 10, 2026), Ward No. 1 has been reserved for ST (Women).
Wards 2, 3, and 8 have been reserved for OBC (Women), while Wards 6, 14, 15, 21, and 27 have been reserved for OBC category. Wards 16, 19, 22, 23, 25, and 29 have been reserved exclusively for Women.
The remaining wards — 4, 5, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 17, 18, 20, 24, 26, 28 and 30 — fall under the General category.
