PANJIM: The Corporation of the City of Panaji has released the SoP’s for Diwali Festival.
The SOP shall be followed on the eve of the ensuing Diwali Festival (on the day / evening at the installation of effigy of Narkasur) for prevention the spread of the covid-19 disease in the state of Goa.
1. The Height of the Nakasur Effigy shall be of 8 feet only.
2. No fireworks shall oe used at the site of installation of Narkasur effigy on 13.11.2020 and early morning of 14.11.2020
3 There shall be absolute ban on use of DJ/ amplifier / amplified sound system within the jurisdiction of CCP on 13.11.2020 and on 14.11.2020
4. There shall be absolute ban on organising of entertainment programmes, competitions, etc, on the eve of Diwali i.e. on 13.11.2020
5. There shall be No procession of Narkasur effigy on the of eve of Diwali i.e. on 13.11.2020
6. No person or club or any organisation shall install Narkasur Effigy on the Road.
7. No person or club or any organisation shall set on fire the Narkasur effigy on the Road.
8. The protocol of social distancing, wearing of face cover and use of hand wash/ hand sanitizer shall be followed by all throughout the celebrations.
9. All the persons involved in above activities shall maintain social distancing all the time so that covid pandemic is not spread during the festival season.
10. No large gathering shall be allowed at the site of installation of Narkasur Effigy.
11. For Diwali celebrations, as far as possible home visits to friends and neighbours may be avoided and instead greetings on social media or telephones may be adopted.
