Sattari: An offence was registered on January 31, 2026, at around 11.30 pm on the complaint of Bhushan Ramesh Varak, a resident of Gaonkar Wada, Pissurlem, Sattari, Goa, in connection with an incident of vandalism and arson at a wine shop in Bhuipal, Sattari.
According to the complaint, the incident occurred on January 26, 2026, at around 12.15 am at JP Wine Store, located near the forest check post at Bhuipal. The complainant alleged that two accused persons, Manzar Fokaru Beig and Krishna Patil, both residents of Valpoi, Sattari, acted with common intention and damaged the CCTV camera installed at the wine shop.
The accused further allegedly committed mischief by setting fire to the shutter of the wine shop, causing financial loss to the complainant.
Following the registration of the offence, police arrested Manzar Fokaru Beig in the early hours of February 1, 2026, at around 12.15 am.
Further investigation into the case is in progress, while efforts are on to trace and apprehend the second accused.
