New Delhi: CD Fountainhead and Sinq Rangers recorded impressive victories in the ongoing GSB Unity Cup 3.0, organised by the Goa GSB Sports and Charitable Trust, during Saturday’s matches at the MCC Ground in Margao. Both encounters, played under lights, delivered high intensity cricket and were decided in the closing stages.
In the first match, CD Fountainhead put up 169 for 7 in their 20 overs after opting to bat. Manish Kakode top scored with 49, while Anish Prabhudesai added 45 to provide a steady platform. Vikrant Prabhu chipped in with 29 and Pranav Biche remained unbeaten on 24, ensuring a strong finish in the final overs.
Desserts N More Avengers mounted a determined chase but were limited to 161 for 7. Kaushal Hattangadi made 36 and Saish Hegde contributed 30, yet consistent breakthroughs halted their progress. Pranav Biche returned to make an impact with the ball, claiming 2 for 26, while Vikrant Prabhu and others supported with disciplined spells to seal an eight run victory.
The second fixture saw Sinq Rangers post a commanding 182 for 6. Sairaj Dhond struck 35, Nikhil Virginkar anchored the innings with an unbeaten 34, and useful contributions from Vismay Falgaonkar and Megh Netravalkar strengthened the total.
Priority Titans faced early setbacks in their chase, slipping to 22 for 4. Sahil Mandrekar counterattacked with 51 and Animesh Prabhugaonkar added 34 to revive hopes. However, Mehanak Dharwadkar turned the tide with a decisive spell of 4 for 25, restricting the Titans to 174 all out. Nikhil Virginkar and Arin Angle provided crucial support with two wickets each.
Manish Kakode earned the Desserts N More Player of the Match award in the first game, while Pranav Biche was named Kamat Realty Hero of the Match. In the later contest, Mehanak Dharwadkar claimed the top individual honour, with Nikhil Virginkar receiving the corresponding hero award as the tournament moves into its next phase.
