Canacona: A loaded truck carrying cement bags rammed into the compound wall of the Shree Nirakar Devasthan at Kindlem in Canacona on Thursday.
According to sources, the driver of the cement-laden truck reportedly lost control of the heavy vehicle, which veered off the road and crashed into the temple compound, shattering a portion of the wall. An electricity pole with overhead cables located within the premises was also damaged in the mishap.
Fortunately, no one was present inside the temple premises at the time of the accident. The driver escaped unhurt, though the front portion of the truck, including the bonnet, was badly damaged.
