PANAJI: The Central Government has officially notified the toll charges for the newly built four-lane link road connecting National Highway 66 to Mopa Airport. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has been tasked with toll collection on this stretch, which includes a direct road section of 3.943 kilometres and a cumulative structural length equivalent to 26.37 kilometres.
According to the notification, toll fees have been determined using 2007-08 as the base year. Private cars and light motor vehicles will be charged ₹19.70, which translates to ₹0.65 per kilometre. On the higher end, oversized transport vehicles with seven or more axles will be required to pay ₹127.31, calculated at ₹4.20 per kilometre.
A concession is also available for locally registered commercial vehicles, excluding those operating under a National Permit. These vehicles will be eligible for a 50% discount on the standard toll, but only if no alternate or service road is accessible to them.
Additionally, residents living within a 20-kilometre radius of the toll plaza will have the option to avail a monthly pass priced at ₹350. This facility is limited to non-commercial vehicles. The toll plaza will be located on NH-166S at Sukekulan village.
