CANACONA: A new committee of the Adarsh Yuva Sangh Gaondgrim-Khotigao has been elected and formally announced. The youth-centric organization, known for organizing the annual Lukosthav festival at Adhargram in Amone (Poinguinim) for the past 24 years, was founded by Goa Legislative Assembly Speaker and Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar, who now serves as Chairman of the Advisory Committee.
Chandrakant Velip has been elected as the President of the organization, while Deepak Velip takes over as Secretary. Rupesh Tawadkar has been appointed Vice-President, Payak Velip as Joint Secretary, and Gangesh Velip as Treasurer. The new executive body also includes members Dhananjay Velip, Madhukar Velip, Rajesh Vagonkar, Dipaswi Velip, Akshada Velip, Nilima Gaonkar, Vrinda Velip, Nisha Tawadkar, Kisan Gaonkar, and Ajit Velip.
The Advisory Committee, chaired by Speaker Tawadkar, comprises several prominent local leaders including Ashok Gaonkar (Headmaster, Balram Day Care School, Shristhal), Shrikant Tawadkar, Damodar Velip, Janu Tawadkar, Savita Tawadkar (Sarpanch of Poinguinim VP), Prabhakar Gaonkar (BJP Canacona Mandal President), Ashok Velip, Datta Velip, Ashok Gaonkar, Ganesh Gaonkar, Kavita N. Gaonkar, Ganesh Velip, Vishant Gaonkar, and Sejal Gaonkar (Sarpanch, Shristhal VP).
In a move to expand and streamline its operations, the organization has, for the first time, introduced four regional clusters across Gaondongrim, Khotigao, Shristhal, and Amone. Junior category cluster heads appointed include Ulhas Velip (Gaondongrim), Bhiraj Gaonkar (Shristhal), Rajnish Gaonkar (Khotigao), and Vishant Gaonkar (Amone). Senior category heads are Ulhas Govind Gaonkar (Gaondongrim), Purushottam Gaonkar (Shristhal), Premanand Gaonkar (Khotigao), and Rajesh Velip (Amone).
The newly formed committee has expressed its commitment to strengthening youth initiatives and cultural development across the Canacona region through more structured and inclusive efforts.
