MARGAO: Chandrawaddo Boys Fatorda lifted the 17th Rebello Pandal All Goa open trophy defeating ABC 13 Maina by 6-5 via the tiebreaker.
The tournament was organised by Rebello Pandal Maina and played at St.Rita Church ground.
The exciting final was played on Easter Sunday in front of a large crowd and both the teams exhibited their talents and kept the football fans on their toes.
It was Hanshlum Furtado of Fatorda who opened the scoreline for Fatorda in the 18th minute of play beating Maina goalkeeper Stanley with fine placement
In the next minute, the Maina’s Nickson shot missed the target and till half time, Chandrawaddo Boy’s Fatorda were leading 1-0.
Resumption of the second half, ABC Maina 13 changed their plans and made a substitution in the form of Chaddu who scored the equaliser in the 36th minute with a header later on Maina increased the lead due to Chandrawaddo’s goalkeeper misjudment in the 45th minute of play.
As the match heading for injury time Cliff Barreto’s long ranger shot entered the Maina nets and the match ended in a 2-2 draw
