PANAJI: Chaos was witnessed outside the Corporation of the City of Panaji office in Panaji after vendors queued up outside the office anticipating that the forms for the Ashtami fair stalls would be distributed today.
Mayor Rohit Monserrate said that all the procedures including giving of forms for the stalls on Mandovi promenade will start from tomorrow and the process will be monitored by the CCP Commissioner and taxation officer.
He also informed that the stall rates have been increased this time in view of the extensive garbage collection CCP needs to undertake after the fair.
“We will be extremely strict this time. Only one form will be given per person,” he added.
Many vendors who had queued outside the CCP office said that they had been coming here for the past 3 days as they did not want to miss out on getting a stall.
