CANACONA: The 29-year-old man arrested in connection with the seizure of charas worth ₹4.31 lakh at Colomb, Canacona, has been remanded to three days of police custody by the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Canacona.
The accused, identified as Deepu Singh, was produced before the JMFC court after his arrest on January 19.
The court granted police remand till further investigation, allowing the police to question the accused to ascertain the source of the narcotic substance, identify suppliers and possible links in the drug network operating in the region.
Police said the remand is crucial to trace the supply chain and determine whether others are involved in the case. Further investigation in the matter is in progress.
