Porvorim: The Porvorim Police Station have filed a detailed chargesheet in the much-talked-about sexual assault case involving a school van driver.
The case was registered in December 2025, following a complaint of sexual assault. The accused driver was arrested soon after the offence was reported and has remained in judicial custody since then.
Police have filed the chargesheet under Sections 64, 65, 74, 351 and 115(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Sections 8(1) and 8(2) of the Goa Children’s Act, and Sections 4, 6, 8 and 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) Act.
The chargesheet reportedly cites numerous witnesses and technical evidence collected during the course of investigation.
The matter will now be tried before the Special Children’s Court for the State of Goa.
