Mopa: Goa witnessed a strong surge in international tourist arrivals with multiple charter flights landing from key overseas source markets, further reinforcing the state’s global air connectivity during the peak holiday season.
On December 30, 2025, a Nordwind Airlines charter flight from Moscow arrived in Goa carrying 360 passengers. This was followed by another Nordwind Airlines charter flight from Yekaterinburg on December 31, 2025, with 373 passengers on board. Additionally, Fly Arystan operated a charter flight from Astana on December 30, 2025, bringing 176 passengers to Goa, highlighting sustained interest from the Central Asian market.
Speaking on the charter arrivals, Tourism Minister Rohan A. Khaunte said the steady inflow of charter flights from regions such as Russia and Central Asia reflects growing international confidence in Goa as a preferred holiday destination. He added that strengthening air connectivity remains a key focus in promoting quality tourism while ensuring a seamless and enriching experience for visitors.
Director of Tourism Kedar Naik stated that charter operations play a crucial role in sustaining international tourist arrivals. He said the Department of Tourism is working closely with airlines, airport authorities and tourism stakeholders to ensure smooth facilitation and to further expand Goa’s presence in both emerging and established global markets.
The Department of Tourism, Government of Goa, reiterated its commitment to enhancing international connectivity, diversifying source markets and positioning Goa as a year-round tourism destination through focused and strategic initiatives.
