COLVALE: Covale Police have registered a case against an unknown accused for breaking into a chicken shop and committing theft at Thivim in Bardez.
As per Covale Police Station Crime No. 73/2025, an offence under Sections 331(3), 331(4) and 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered on December 28, 2025, following a complaint lodged by Mr. Gousapak Udakeri (33), a businessman and resident of Ponxem, Thivim.
The complainant stated that between 10.00 pm on December 27 and 7.30 am on December 28, 2025, an unknown person broke open the front metal shutter of his Halal Chicken Centre located near Chaitanya Hospital, Madel, Thivim, and gained illegal entry into the shop.
The accused allegedly stole cash amounting to ₹1,200 in different denominations from the cash counter, two live hens worth ₹500, and a CCTV DVR valued at ₹4,000. The total loss has been estimated at ₹5,700.
Covale Police have registered the offence and further investigation is being carried out by PSI Vishnu Jadhav.
