BICHOLIM:
In a visit to the Assonora Bypass project site, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant emphasized his government’s commitment to addressing local concerns while improving the region’s infrastructure.
The bypass is designed to ease traffic congestion, a long-standing issue in the area. The project, valued at approximately ₹130 crore, is part of broader efforts to enhance connectivity and reduce travel times between Bardez and Bicholim talukas.
At the site inspection, accompanied by Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Minister Nilkant Halarnkar, Principal Chief Engineer of PWD, local Sarpanch, and other officials, CM Sawant directed the Public Works Department (PWD) to engage with local farmers and residents.
Key priorities include resolving issues related to rainwater drainage, ensuring measures to prevent water from entering homes and fields and providing adequate parking for devotees visiting the Devi Shri Lairai temple.
Sawant underscored the government’s dedication to inclusive development, aiming to balance commuting convenience with the well-being of local communities. The Assonora Bypass, once completed, will significantly enhance travel experiences in the region, aligning with Goa’s broader economic development goals.
