PANAJI: The Government of Goa has suspended Rajesh J. Naik, the Chief Town Planner (Planning) in the Town and Country Planning Department, amid impending disciplinary proceedings.
In an official order issued by the Directorate of Vigilance, the suspension was enacted under sub-rule (1) of Rule 10 of the Central Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1965.
The order states that a disciplinary proceeding is being contemplated against Naik, necessitating his immediate suspension.
As per the order, during the period of suspension, Naik’s headquarters will be the Department of Personnel at the Secretariat in Porvorim.
He has been directed not to leave the headquarters without prior approval from the Competent Authority.
Additionally, he will be entitled to a subsistence allowance in accordance with Fundamental Rule 53 (1)(ii)(a).
The suspension order was signed by Akshay G. Potekar, Director of Vigilance and ex-officio Joint Secretary to the Government, and was issued in the name of the Governor of Goa.
