PANAJI: In a major judgment, the Children’s Court at Panaji has acquitted Kishan Kalgutkar of all charges under Section 8(2) of the Goa Children’s Act, Sections 4 and 6 of the POCSO Act, and Sections 354A(1)(iii), 323, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code.
Kalgutkar had been accused of aggravated penetrative sexual assault, showing pornography, and threatening a minor with dire consequences.
The verdict came after an intense courtroom trial, where defence counsel Adv. Sahil Khot successfully argued for Kalgutkar’s acquittal.
The prosecution team included Public Prosecutor Tema Narvekar, with LPSI Varshada Naik Desai serving as the investigating officer in the case.
