MAPUSA: In a deeply disturbing development, Mapusa Police have apprehended a father-son duo, identified as Satya Nabarangpura (50) and his son Thabir (31), both migrant workers hailing from Odisha, in connection with the brutal murder of a fellow labourer. The victim’s body was discovered at a construction site in Parra, bearing severe injuries including deep slashes to the head and neck, and the horrific mutilation of genitals, suggesting an act of extreme violence and possible torture.
The gruesome discovery sent shockwaves through the local community, prompting immediate and decisive action from the Mapusa Police.
A team led by Police Inspector Nikhil Palekar launched an intensive search, which quickly led them to the accused duo, found hiding in a field near the crime scene.
While the precise motive behind this chilling act remains under active investigation, police have begun questioning Satya and Thabir, along with recording statements from co-workers and nearby residents.
Forensic experts have also been deployed to the site to meticulously collect all available evidence.
