PANAJI: A person from Chimbel was murdered yesterday night allegedly over a family dispute.
The deceased is identified as Murugan alias Ballu Gaunder.
Old Goa police have held Linganath Palkar, Pratiksha Gaunder, Parshuram Gaunder and Hemant Palkar over suspicion of their involvement in the murder.
As per the information, the accused allegedly abused the complainant’s wife with bad words and threatened her.
The accused further allegedly assaulted their minor son with slaps and pelted stones, due to which he sustained head injuries.
Further, they attacked the complainants’ brother in law namely Murgan Gaunder, one of the accused namely, Lingnath, allegedly stabbed him in the chest region, due to which he succumbed to injuries.
Police said that further investigation is on, and more details are awaited.
