New Delhi: In a sharp revelation highlighting the deepening military ties between China and Pakistan, Deputy Chief of Army Staff (Capability Development & Sustenance), Lt Gen Rahul R Singh, stated that China provided real-time intelligence and weapon support to Pakistan during the recent Operation Sindoor.
Speaking at a defence event on ‘New Age Military Technologies’ organized by FICCI in the national capital, Lt Gen Singh said that while India was engaged with Pakistan on the western front during the May 7-10 conflict, it was essentially facing three adversaries — Pakistan, China, and Turkey.
He alleged that China shared live updates on India’s key strategic movements with Pakistan even as DGMO-level talks were taking place between the two nations during the hostilities.
“While Pakistan was at the front, China provided all possible support, including intelligence sharing. About 81% of Pakistan’s military hardware is of Chinese origin. This reflects how China uses Pakistan as a ‘live lab’ to test its weapons against adversaries like India,” Lt Gen Singh said, as quoted by news agency ANI.
He further revealed that Turkey also played a role by supplying military drones and hardware to Islamabad, deepening the multi-nation threat perception for India during the brief but intense conflict.
The Army official emphasized the need for India to prepare for broader future threats, stating that while civilian areas were largely spared in Operation Sindoor, that might not be the case next time.
“We need a robust air defence system. Air defence played a key role in Operation Sindoor, and the lessons learned must guide our future capability development,” he added.
Lt Gen Singh’s comments underscore a growing concern in India’s strategic circles about the evolving China-Pakistan-Turkey military axis and its implications for regional security and conflict preparedness.
