MARGAO: A man identified as Roy Fernandes, son of Roshan Fernandes, and resident of Chinchinim, Salcete, was declared brought dead at South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao, in the early hours of Thursday.
Police said they received a call from the hospital informing about the incident. During inquiry, the deceased’s wife revealed that Roy had been suffering from fever, cold, and pain in his left leg for about a week and was under medication. Around 2 a.m. on August 28, he reportedly began feeling uneasy, vomited blood, and collapsed. He was rushed to SGDH, where the on-duty doctor declared him brought dead.
The wife also disclosed that Roy was a chronic alcoholic.
Police have preserved the body at SGDH morgue for inquest panchanama and medico-legal formalities.
Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Sudan Bhosale of Cuncolim Police Station.
