VASCO: Union Minister for Food Processing Industries Chirag Paswan arrived in Goa to attend the Goa Spiritual Festival, stating that the event presents the state’s spiritual and cultural depth to the world beyond its image as a beach destination.
Paswan was received at Dabolim Airport by Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar.
Addressing the gathering, Paswan said Goa has long been known for “sun, sand and its vibrant atmosphere,” but stressed that tourists must now be introduced to the state’s spiritual legacy and historical roots. “In the race towards modernity, many aspects of Goa’s rich traditions were fading. It is our generation’s responsibility to ensure that this invaluable heritage does not disappear,” he said.
He added that while Goa offers world-class tourism infrastructure and scenic beaches, it also possesses a profound cultural and spiritual legacy. “Through the Spiritual Festival, the other side of Goa — its divine traditions and rich culture — has been presented before the world. This initiative will not only enhance tourism but also promote spiritual tourism, giving Goa a distinct identity,” Paswan said.
Calling it a privilege to attend the festival, the Union Minister described the initiative as a meaningful step towards preserving and promoting Goa’s cultural heritage on a global platform.
