Panaji: Former Goa Pradesh Congress Committee president Girish Chodankar has alleged that the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Goa’s official social media accounts are being manipulated from the BJP’s headquarters, compromising the neutrality of the institution.
Chodankar questioned the Election Commission over whether the CEO’s ‘X’ and Facebook handles are being used to serve partisan interests, alleging that posts targeting Congress leader Rahul Gandhi amount to a “blatant breach of neutrality and constitutional duty.”
“The people of India must now rise for truth, justice, and the Constitution,” Chodankar said, pledging to counter such acts through democratic means. Declaring that “the revolution to protect democracy has begun,” he warned that attempts to hijack institutions to influence elections or alter the Republic’s foundation “will not go scot-free,” adding that the Congress will not remain silent in the face of such institutional complicity.
