Margao – Goa Pradesh Congress Committee president Girish Chodankar has slammed MGP MLA Sudin Dhavalikar for recommending extension to BJP government.
“Giving extension to the most insensitive, failed and irresponsible BJP Government under defective Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant will not only be unconstitutional but criminal stated,” Congress President Girish Chodankar.
He said that it is shocking to read the statement of MGP MLA Ramkrishna alias Sudin Dhavlikar regarding postponement of elections in Goa with a recommendation to give extension to the current government or imposition of presidents rule.
“He is a senior legislator and should know the constitution well. There is no provision in the constitution to give extension to any government,” stated Girish Chodankar.
Chodankar says BJP Governments at the Centre as well as the States have lost moral and ethical right to continue in power.
“People are cursing BJP Governments all across the nation for their failure to handle Covid and Economy. Surprisingly, MGP MLA is day dreaming of giving them extension,” he said.
He said that this is an indication of Sudin Dhavlikar now getting suffocated for remaining out of power for long and wants Dr. Pramod Sawant to provide him with a breathing machine of lucrative portfolio in the ministry.
“We dont need a scientist to analyse the timing of the statement made by Sudin Dhavlikar. Political opportunism is reflecting from his statement which has exposed his greed for power. What was expected from him was demand for an upright full time Governor for Goa. Instead, he tries to push for his politics of convenience. This is sad and displays the low of politics in Goa,” Girish Chodankar said.
He said that after hearing the statement of BJP leader Dr. Subramaniam Swamy, MGP MLA must have remembered his “Acche Din” as PWD Minister with the blessings of Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari.
“He must be thinking of becoming “Aatmanirbhar” again by getting “Swayampurna” in Dr. Pramod Sawant led Cabinet,” stated Girish Chodankar.
“People are watching and will never ever pardon those who are playing political games when patients are dying. Goa has created new record of killing 70 people every day. There is a limit to everything. Today, nature is showing its fury and we need to be careful and cautious,“ Chodankar warned.
