CANACONA: The Canacona Civil Supplies Department confiscated two domestic LPG cylinders that were being illegally used for commercial purposes at beach shacks along the Agonda shoreline.
According to sources, acting under the guidance of Canacona Mamlatdar Gajesh Shirodkar, Assistant Director of Civil Supplies Ulhas Velip conducted raids across the Agonda beach stretch. During the inspection, officials found two different shacks using domestic cooking gas cylinders for commercial business operations, which is prohibited under regulations.
The cylinders were seized on the spot after the violations were confirmed. Officials stated that domestic gas cylinders are meant strictly for household use and their use in commercial establishments poses safety risks and violates supply norms.
Following completion of legal formalities, the confiscated cylinders were handed over to the local gas distributor in Canacona for safekeeping and further action. Authorities also emphasized strict adherence to safety regulations and warned commercial establishments against using domestic cylinders for business purposes.
