Panaji: The BPS Open Pickleball Championship 2026 concluded on a high note in Margao, with Clarence Noronha and Rajendra Godinho capturing the Men’s Doubles 50 plus crown and Kane Roncon Pereira partnering Ruta Borkar to secure the Open Mixed Doubles title.
In the Men’s Doubles 50 plus final, Clarence and Rajendra delivered a steady performance to defeat Noel Noronha and Wilfred Jacques 11 to 5, 11 to 8. The winning pair had earlier advanced with convincing victories in the knockout rounds, including a semifinal win over Gaurav Sapra and Karan Singh and a dominant quarterfinal display.
The Open Mixed Doubles final saw Kane and Ruta produce a commanding effort, overcoming Joshua Menezes and Audrey Menezes 11 to 2, 11 to 5. Their run to the title included a semifinal victory against Vishnu and Aditi Chodankar after progressing confidently through the earlier stages.
In the Men’s Doubles Open category, Rahil Peris and Torcato Vaz emerged champions following a competitive three game final against Immanuel Rohan and Joshua Menezes. After dropping the first game 6 to 11, Rahil and Torcato regrouped to win 11 to 5, 11 to 7. They had earlier registered a strong semifinal win, while Immanuel and Joshua advanced after a narrow contest in their last four clash.
The Men’s Singles 35 plus title went to Immanuel Rohan, who defeated Nihaal Borkar 15 to 8 in the final. Both finalists had battled through competitive semifinals to set up the decider.
The championship, held over three days at the BPS Sports Club, witnessed competitive matches across categories, featuring seasoned players and emerging talent. The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, marking the successful completion of a tournament that showcased the growing popularity and competitive spirit of pickleball in the region.
