PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant today announced Rs 2 lakh financial assistance to families of COVID-19 victims on the occasion of Goa Statehood Day.
“State government will provide financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh per family who have lost their sole earners due to the COVID-19 pandemic.,” said CM Sawant
He further announced a Rs 50,000 fund to panchayts who are financially weak to tackle Covid-19 and the impact of Cyclone Tauktae.
On the vaccination from CM Sawant informed that people from 18-44 category will be vaccinated from June 3 onwards. He informed that parents with child of less than two years of age, people with comorbid conditions, rickshaw, motorcycle Pilot, taxi drivers, seafarers and differently abled persons will be given priority in the vaccination.
“Government will launch ‘Mukhamantri Anath Adhar yojana’ for all orphans; financial assistance to child care institutions for helping children till 21 years of age,” said CM
Meanwhile, Chief minister announced that from now onwards all revenue and legislature documents will now only carry Goa stating that Daman and Diu will be eliminated
“The file is with the law department and they will on renaming,” he informed
