PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant congratulated banks in Goa for successfully achieving the milestone of establishing a bank branch within every 5-kilometer radius
Sawant attended and addressed the 128th Meeting of the State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC) of Goa in the presence of Chief Secretary, Ram Singh-General Manager & Convenor of SLBC Goa, Prabhakar Jha-Regional Director of the Reserve Bank of India, Goa, and the Regional Heads of various banks operating in the state.
“I congratulate the banks in Goa for successfully achieving the milestone of establishing a bank branch within every 5-kilometer radius and urged them to further expand their reach by ensuring branches within a 3-kilometer radius,” said Sawant
He also applauded their efforts in enhancing credit outlay targets and their unwavering commitment to implementing social welfare schemes of the Union Government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the Government of Goa.
“Their role in strengthening Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and ensuring last-mile financial inclusion is appreciated,” he added
CM Sawant also wished to all banking institutions in Goa as they continue to expand their networks, enhance credit accessibility, and contribute towards the vision of Swayampurna Goa, Viksit Goa.
