PORVORIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today has assured the Leader of Opposition (LoP) and MLA Altone D’Costa to instruct PWD Engineers to inspect the Paroda bridge in view of flooding due to incessant rains.
“Will instruct PWD engineers to inspect Paroda bridge in view of flooding due to incessant rains,” said Sawant.
LoP Yuri Alemao said that the Government has not acted in the last 2 years despite my raising the issue of Flooding at Paroda.
“I had demanded a Study on the Cause of Flooding by the National Institute of Oceanography as well as Action by PWD or GSIDC. Goa CM’s focus is on Events, not on Public Safety,” said Yuri.
Vehicles avoided the area near Paroda as the water level rose dangerously due to the Kushwati River’s full spate. Heavy rains frequently cause Paroda to flood, and the Public Works Department’s attempts to raise the level of the section of road that frequently submerges have also failed.
