CHORAO’ Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant has assured the people of Goa that no Goan family’s home will be demolished, reaffirming his government’s commitment to protecting the rights of local villagers.
Addressing concerns over the recent controversy surrounding the Chorao Bhomkar family, the Chief Minister stated that their house, built before 1975, will be regularized in accordance with the law.
He urged the family to meet the concerned Mamlatdar to initiate the necessary formalities.
Dr. Sawant emphasized that the government will soon implement major reforms aimed at safeguarding traditional Goan homes and preventing unnecessary demolitions.
He made it clear that while genuine Goans will be protected, “non-Goans who harass Goans will face justice.” The Chief Minister’s assurance has come as a relief to many Goan villagers worried about the security of their ancestral properties amidst ongoing land and ownership disputes.
