SANKHALI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant urged the younger generation to embrace technology and contribute to the country’s development, emphasizing the importance of placing the nation’s progress above all else.
He highlighted that India’s future strength and advancement depend on the active participation of its youth.
At a ceremony marking the birth anniversary of Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee in Sankhali, Sawant stressed the need for the youth to understand the life and legacy of Mukherjee.
He encouraged them to listen to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Mann Ki Baat” and read about India’s history to better appreciate the role of great leaders in shaping the country’s success.
The Chief Minister also lauded the achievements of India under Modi’s leadership, claiming that what had remained unaccomplished for decades was achieved in just 11 years. “India has emerged as the world’s third-largest economic superpower,” he added.
Sawant took the opportunity to recall India’s struggle for Goa’s liberation from Portuguese rule, noting that even after independence, it took 14 years for Prime Minister Nehru to diplomatically persuade Portugal to relinquish its control over the state.
The CM concluded by urging youth to actively contribute to building a stronger, more developed India and Goa, positioning them as key to the nation’s future success.
