Panaji: Chief Minister of Goa Dr. Pramod Sawant on Wednesday extended warm Christmas greetings to the people of Goa, especially the Christian community, on the joyous occasion of Christmas.
In his message, the Chief Minister said Christmas is a celebration of peace, goodwill, compassion and hope—values that strengthen Goa’s social fabric. He said the teachings of Lord Jesus Christ continue to inspire humanity to follow the path of kindness, humility and service to others. He urged citizens to imbibe these values not only during the festive season but throughout the year to foster unity and mutual respect among all communities in the State.
Dr. Sawant emphasised that Goa has always been known for peaceful coexistence and appealed to citizens to continue nurturing these values by promoting understanding, respect and unity across all sections of society. “Let the spirit of Christmas remind us to live with love and harmony, and to uphold the unique bonds that make Goa a model of peaceful living,” he said.
The Chief Minister also called upon people to actively cooperate with the Government in its ongoing efforts towards development and progress across the State. He noted that public participation is crucial for the successful implementation of various developmental initiatives focused on improving infrastructure, enhancing public services, empowering youth and ensuring sustainable growth.
Wishing every Goan a blessed and joyful Christmas, Dr. Sawant said, “May the festive season bring happiness, harmony and renewed hope to every home, and inspire us all to contribute positively to the progress and wellbeing of our beloved Goa.”
Meanwhile, Governor Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju also extended warm Christmas greetings and best wishes to the people of Goa.
In his message, the Governor said Christmas marks the birth of Jesus Christ, which brought to humanity timeless values of peace, love, sacrifice and brotherhood. He said the festival is a time for families and friends to come together, share joy and reflect with gratitude on life’s blessings, while extending kindness to others.
Calling upon people to renew their commitment to love and compassion, the Governor said everyone must work together to build a Goa where peace, harmony and unity prevail. “May this Christmas bring joy to every home, fill our hearts with hope, and usher in a New Year of peace, progress and prosperity for all,” he concluded.
