Panaji: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has extended warm greetings and best wishes to the people of the State on the joyous occasion of the New Year, expressing hope that the coming year will bring peace, prosperity, good health and happiness to every Goan.
In his New Year message, Dr Sawant appealed to citizens to continue supporting the Government’s efforts in effectively implementing various welfare schemes and development initiatives across the State. He emphasised that collective cooperation from the people is vital to accelerate growth, strengthen public services and ensure that the benefits of development reach all sections of society.
Reaffirming the Government’s commitment to building a resilient and progressive Goa, the Chief Minister urged people to actively participate in the Swayampurna Goa Mission and strive towards greater self-reliance. He noted that the initiative aims to empower individuals, communities and local self-governance institutions, fostering sustainable livelihoods and improving the overall quality of life.
Dr Sawant also highlighted Goa’s long-standing legacy of peace, unity and coexistence, calling upon citizens to uphold the State’s cherished traditions of religious harmony, mutual respect and collective well-being. He said this spirit of togetherness is one of Goa’s greatest strengths and must continue to guide the State in the year ahead. Expressing confidence in the future, the Chief Minister said Goa will continue to move forward on the path of inclusive and progressive development with public cooperation and shared commitment.
Meanwhile, Governor of Goa, Shri Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju, has also extended New Year 2026 greetings and best wishes to the people of Goa and Goans living across the world.
In his message, the Governor said the New Year is a time for renewal, hope and fresh beginnings, offering an opportunity to reflect on the past, appreciate Goa’s rich cultural heritage and renew commitment to peace, harmony and collective progress. Urging citizens to strive towards newer and greater goals, he called upon people to reflect on their shared journey and welcome the New Year 2026 with renewed hope and confidence.
The Governor expressed hope that the coming year will bring joy, peace and prosperity to every home, and called for unity, dedication and commitment to the welfare of society. He concluded by extending his warm greetings and best wishes to all for a happy and prosperous New Year 2026.
