PANAJI:Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant handed over appointment letters to more than 900 youth at the Rojgar Melava held under the Sewa Pakhwada initiative at Kala Academy, Panaji, while announcing a larger recruitment drive that will create over 7,500 government jobs in the next two years.
Sawant said that 5,000 positions will be filled through the Goa Human Resource Development Corporation (GHRDC), while another 2,500 will be rolled out shortly under the Staff Selection Commission. He urged the newly appointed youth to view their jobs not just as employment but as public service.
“Every role, whether in administration, education, or environment, ultimately serves the people. Sincerity and dedication to duty will shape both Goa’s and India’s development story,” the CM remarked.
The Chief Minister highlighted Nari Shakti, Yuva Shakti, Kisan Shakti, and Garib Kalyan as the four pillars guiding the Prime Minister’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, stressing that Goa is aligning itself with this roadmap through youth empowerment and dignified employment.
The new recruits have been appointed across departments including Education, Environment & Climate Change, Water Resources, Rural Development, and the GHRDC.
Water Resources Minister Subhash Shirodkar delivered the welcome address, while Social Welfare Minister Subhash Phaldessai, Rajya Sabha MP Sadanand Shet Tanavade, and several MLAs and dignitaries attended the function.
