Colvale: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for an Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) fuel pump at Colvale and the Sub Jail at Sada, and inaugurated multiple infrastructure projects at Central Jail Colvale under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
The inaugurated projects include a Sewerage Treatment Plant, a Paper Waste Recycling Project, and a Water Conservation Project. These initiatives have been supported by IOCL, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, and Goa Carbon Ltd.
Chairperson of the Goa State Women’s Commission, Smt. Ranjita Pai; industrialist Shri Shrinivas Dempo; representatives from IOCL; and senior government officials were present on the occasion.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Sawant congratulated the CSR partners for their efforts and said the water conservation initiative is expected to save up to 75 lakh cubic meters of rainwater annually. He also noted that the Paper Recycling Project would contribute to transforming the prison into a recreational center — the first of its kind in the country.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment, the Chief Minister said the Goa government remains focused on enhancing infrastructure through active collaboration with the private sector.
