PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant inaugurated ‘Samaakalan 2.0’ – National Conference on Integrative Oncology, held in the presence of leading experts from Tata Memorial Centre (ACTREC) and the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) in Mumbai.
Addressing the gathering, Sawant said the conference highlights the importance of combining evidence-based AYUSH systems with modern oncology to ensure more holistic and patient-centric cancer care. He stressed that integrative oncology should not only focus on treatment but also on improving quality of life, mental well-being, rehabilitation and supportive care for patients.
The Chief Minister stated that Goa remains committed to strengthening healthcare delivery, promoting preventive care and encouraging innovation in the medical sector. He noted that collaboration with Tata Memorial Centre and the joint clinic initiative with the All India Institute of Ayurveda reflect the State’s resolve to adopt integrative approaches in healthcare.
Sawant further said that the government intends to make integrative, affordable and accessible cancer care a reality, “where science meets compassion,” ensuring comprehensive support for patients and their families.
