Porvorim: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Friday informed the House that action has been initiated in the Candolim incident wherein the local people (mostly ladies) were brutally beaten up by the Delhites.
The issue was raised during Zero Hour by Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte, who demanded an answer from the CM on the issue.
Khaunte said that the locals were beaten up with lathis for trying to save their ancestral house.
“The issue needs urgent attention as the Delhi people have been trying to take forced possession of houses of locals,” he said.
He said Goa is becoming a police State and government is using the police to get its woks done of taming the Opposition.
CM replied, “The local MLA has spoken to me and I have already directed the police to take action. I am informed now that action is initiated already.”
In exclusive videos on Thursday and Friday, Goemkarponn had exposed how the Delhiites are intimidating locals.
The ladies led by Anuja Naik had filed a complaint before the Calangute police but she alleged that the police refused to accept their complaint.
“The Police have refused to accept our complaint even as the Delhiites have entered our houses and assaulted the women in the house,” she said.
