PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that instead of having bar counters at home, the people should set up libraries to inculcate the youth’s reading habits.
“Instead of having a bar counter in homes, the people should set up small libraries to inculcate the habit of reading among the youth,” said CM Sawant at Read India Celebrations
He further said that some people talk about the collection of bottles they have in their homes. Instead, they should maintain a library.
“I have a small library in my home, and my wife maintains it as she reads alot being a school teacher,” he added.
Sawant further appeals to everyone to imbibe the habit of reading and maintaining a house library.
“I convey my best wishes to everyone associated with the Read India Celebrations,” he said.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant that to inculcate the habit of reading among the various sections of students, the teacher should also indulge in reading and later should discuss what they read.
“We should at least read one book a month; the movement of Read India should start from Goa,” he added.
On Friday, CM had made a controversial statement while speaking to the media on Zuari accident that 95 per cent of the accidents at night are due to drink and drive.
