PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant today launched the Mukhyamantri Swayam Rojgar Yojana, a new initiative aimed at promoting self-employment and entrepreneurship among Goan youth.
The scheme offers low-interest loans and special incentives for women entrepreneurs.
Speaking at the launch, Dr. Sawant said that entrepreneurship has been an integral part of Goan culture for generations and stressed that now is the right time to inspire youth to become job creators rather than job seekers.
He commended the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) for its efforts in providing skill and business training to aspiring entrepreneurs.
The Chief Minister highlighted that opportunities exist across all sectors—from manufacturing and tourism to services and agriculture—and assured that the Economic Development Corporation (EDC) is ready to extend financial support to eligible applicants under the new scheme.
“The Mukhyamantri Swayam Rojgar Yojana will help make Goa a model state for innovation and inclusive growth,” Dr. Sawant said, urging young Goans to take advantage of the government’s support system to realise their entrepreneurial ambitions.
