PANAJI: Girish Chodankar, former president of the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee and CWC Member, has issued a strong demand for Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant to respond to serious corruption allegations raised by his cabinet colleague.
Chodankar points out that while the CM has consistently remained silent in the face of various corruption charges from civil society and political opponents, he cannot afford to ignore the claims made by Cabinet Minister Govind Gaude.
Girish stated, “We are witnessing a troubling trend of corruption within the current BJP government, as highlighted by Cabinet Minister Gaude.” Girish elaborated that Gaude’s recent revelations shine a light on critical issues impacting the ST, SC, and OBC communities, necessitating immediate attention.
Cabinet Minister Gaude disclosed that contractors are being coerced into paying bribes for file clearances within the Tribal Welfare Department. This disturbing admission raises significant concerns regarding the department’s integrity, especially considering it operates under the Chief Minister’s oversight.
These revelations emphasize the urgent need for accountability and transparency in our governance. It is imperative that we unite to demand justice and reform to safeguard the interests of our marginalized communities. Now is the time to hold our leaders accountable and ensure that the government serves all citizens without corruption or bias.
