Sanguem, Goa: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant inaugurated the Goa Spiritual Festival and unveiled the tallest Smarak of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Goa on the occasion of Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti.
The ceremony was held in the presence of Pujya Brahmeshanand Acharya Swamiji, Ministers Subhash Phal Dessai and Digambar Kamat, revered saints, public representatives and Shivpremi citizens.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Sawant said, “This magnificent Smarak of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is a proud symbol of our history and self-respect. It will inspire generations with his ideals of Swarajya, good governance and protection of our culture and traditions.”
He described the memorial as a landmark tribute to the legendary Maratha warrior and a reminder of his vision of strong, people-centric governance rooted in cultural pride.
The Chief Minister further stated that the Government of Goa remains committed to preserving temples, heritage sites and spiritual traditions while promoting cultural and spiritual tourism across the State. He emphasized that such initiatives strengthen Goa’s identity and ensure that future generations remain connected to their rich history and values.
