PONDA: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, during the convocation ceremony of IIT, promised a permanent IIT campus within a short period of time.
Sawant said that during the past few years, there was a lot of effort to set up an IIT campus in Goa which could not be fructified.
“…but this time, I promise you a permanent IIT Campus within a short period of time,” he assured.
He also urged the IIT students to support the growth of Goa.
He said today that Goa is a well-known tourist destination due to its beaches; however, soil erosion affects it due to heavy rain, climate change etc.
He stressed measures and solutions by IIT students to protect the environment.
He also sought their effort in helping in shipbuilding technology in Goa.
He lauded IIT Farmagudi’s effort to provide a hostel to Covid patients during a pandemic.
