Panaji: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant held teachers accountable for students’ lack of awareness about crucial national-level entrance exams such as JEE and NEET. Speaking at the launch of the Goa Career Navigator 2025 programme, Sawant stressed that the onus lies on educators to inform and guide students about these opportunities.
“I am not blaming parents or students. It is the responsibility of teachers to ensure that students are made aware of such exams,” the Chief Minister said during his address.
The Goa Career Navigator 2025 is a career guidance initiative powered by artificial intelligence, jointly launched by the Goa State Council of Education, Research and Training (SCERT) in collaboration with UNOCUE. The initiative aims to reach more than 18,000 students across the state, providing structured career support.
The programme includes various components such as Career UDAAN, the Career Compass Handbook, and the formation of Career Ambassador Clubs in schools, all designed to promote career awareness and leadership skills among students.
While highlighting traditional career routes like engineering and medicine, Sawant also urged students to explore alternative fields. He pointed out that institutions like the All India Institute of Forensic Sciences, the International College of Law, and the National Institute of Water Sports offer a wide array of professional options for students in Goa.
The first phase of the awareness campaign will target Class 12 students and cover all 11 talukas in the coming weeks. In the second phase, the programme will extend to students of Class 10, ensuring comprehensive coverage and career guidance across the state.
