PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant chaired a high-level review meeting at the Mantralaya to strengthen the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) in Goa, with a focus on improving efficiency and response time of emergency services across the state.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, Secretary (Law), District Collectors, senior officers, and Heads of Departments. During the review, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for coordinated efforts among all departments to deliver faster and more citizen-centric emergency services.
Dr Sawant stated that key focus areas discussed included reducing emergency response time, strengthening ambulance services and motorcycle response units, and expanding training programmes for first responders. He underlined the importance of preparedness, quick coordination, and skilled personnel in handling emergencies effectively.
The Chief Minister said the government remains committed to enhancing emergency infrastructure and capabilities to ensure timely assistance to citizens and improve overall public safety across Goa.
