PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant chaired a high-level review meeting on the Veterinary College at Panaji with senior government officials, including Secretaries and Heads of concerned departments.
During the meeting, discussions centred on meeting the June deadline for commencement of the Veterinary College, fast-tracking completion of the campus, procurement of necessary equipment, establishment of the veterinary hospital and clinical complex, and creation of required teaching and non-teaching posts.
The Chief Minister also reviewed key issues related to the proposed Fisheries College, including its affiliation with Goa University, availability of land, and transport connectivity.
The meeting further took stock of the Fisheries sector, focusing on existing infrastructure, availability of qualified Goans in fisheries-related fields, and concrete measures being planned towards the establishment of a dedicated Fisheries College in the State.
