Margao: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant chaired a high-level meeting to review and address key development issues concerning Margao and Navelim, held at the South Goa Collectorate on Wednesday.
The meeting was attended by Margao MLA Digambar Kamat, Navelim MLA Ulhas Tuenkar, South Goa Collector, Margao Municipal Council Chairperson, councilors, and heads of various government departments.
The Chief Minister approved the disbursal of funds for multiple development works across Margao and surrounding areas. Key topics of discussion included expenditure under the 14th Finance Commission, sewerage treatment, solid waste management, and scrap disbursement in both Margao and Navelim.
Dr. Sawant also conducted a review of major ongoing and proposed projects, including the construction of the AYUSH Hospital, beautification of the Spring and Sal River, maintenance of the Old Collectorate and Old Bus Stand, and the Margao Traffic Management Plan, along with the proposed elevated link road to ease congestion.
The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to accelerating infrastructure and environmental improvements in Margao and Navelim, assuring full support for timely execution of all planned works.
